Government of Pakistan announces public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 on 20th and 21st March for offices observing five and six day working weeks.
The Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Secretariat (Cabinet Division), has officially announced public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.
According to the notification issued on 15th March 2026, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has been pleased to declare 20th March and 21st March 2026 (Friday and Saturday) as public holidays across the country.
These holidays will apply to all government offices observing five (5) and six (6) day working weeks.
The decision has been taken in continuation of the Cabinet Division’s earlier circular regarding public and optional holidays for the year 2026.
The notification has been issued for wide publicity through print and electronic media to inform all relevant institutions, departments, and the general public.
Citizens and government institutions are advised to plan their official activities accordingly.
