Under the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) organized a significant ceremony for signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the establishment of 155 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence across the province.
The ceremony was attended by the Provincial Minister for School Education Rana Sikandar Hayat as the chief guest, while Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Malik Shoaib Awan was also present on the occasion. During the event, Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation Shahid Fareed delivered a detailed briefing on the objectives and various aspects of the project.
MoUs were signed with young entrepreneurs, education enthusiasts, NGOs, EdTech firms, and heads of educational chains to establish and manage these schools.
The school management will be given 45 days to develop modern school infrastructure. Afterward, PEF will conduct inspections according to its prescribed standards, following which the schools will be allowed to start student admissions.
Students in these schools will receive free education, while the Government of Punjab will pay the tuition fees.
The schools will be equipped with modern educational facilities including:
• Science Laboratories
• Computer Laboratories
• Robotics Laboratories
• STEM Laboratories
• ECC Classrooms
In addition, schools will provide quality furniture, clean washrooms, and spacious playgrounds to ensure a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for students.
This initiative is an important step towards promoting quality education in Punjab and strengthening the education system, ensuring that children in underserved areas also gain access to modern educational opportunities.
