The Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Division, has officially announced public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram 1448 AH). According to the notification issued on 22 June 2026, the Prime Minister has approved public holidays on 25 June 2026 (Thursday) and 26 June 2026 (Friday).
The holidays will be observed by all government offices operating under both five-day and six-day working week schedules across Pakistan.
The notification has been issued for nationwide implementation and public awareness through print and electronic media.
