LAHORE: Punjab has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Curriculum and Training Initiative aimed at preparing the province’s education system for the growing role of emerging technologies.
Under the initiative, more than 160,000 teachers will receive training to help them understand and use AI and modern digital technologies in classrooms.
The programme focuses on strengthening teachers’ digital capabilities while helping students develop skills relevant to the future digital economy.
The initiative involves the School Education Department, PECTAA, PMIU-PESRP, UNICEF and the Office of AI, according to officials.
The development comes shortly after Punjab approved the inclusion of AI in the school curriculum from Classes 1 to 12. The province has also announced plans related to AI labs and digital literacy.
Officials say the broader objective is to prepare Punjab’s students and teachers for a rapidly changing technological environment.
