The Government of Punjab, School Education Department, has issued fresh instructions regarding the mandatory Building Fitness Certificate for all privately managed educational institutions operating across Punjab.
According to the notification dated 17 July 2026, every private school must obtain a valid Building Fitness Certificate from a Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) registered Civil Engineer/Firm or the Communication & Works (C&W) Department. This requirement is aimed at ensuring the structural safety of school buildings and protecting students and staff.
The department has directed all District Registering Authorities to ensure that private educational institutions are properly registered under the applicable laws and comply with the latest building safety requirements.
