The Punjab Government has announced strict measures to improve student safety across the province. Punjab School Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that all private schools and tuition academies must complete registration and obtain a Building Fitness Certificate before operating.
According to the announcement:
- Registration is mandatory for all schools and tuition academies.
- A valid Building Fitness Certificate is compulsory.
- Institutions operating without registration or a fitness certificate will not be allowed to continue operations.
- Legal action and closures will be initiated against non-compliant institutions.
- Authorities have already started action against hundreds of unregistered institutions, particularly in Lahore.
The government emphasized that these measures are intended to protect students and ensure that educational institutions meet required safety standards. Parents have also been advised to enroll their children only in registered and approved schools and academies.
