Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has issued an official notification regarding the deployment of supervisory staff for the conduct of the Grade 8 Examination 2026 across the province of Punjab.

In pursuance of the decision of the Provincial Cabinet (28th meeting held on 05-08-2025), PECTAA has been mandated to conduct Grade 8 examinations annually through a standardized assessment framework to ensure uniformity in evaluation and learning outcomes.
Examination Schedule
The Grade 8 Examination 2026 is scheduled to be held in the 1st or 2nd week of March 2026.
Deployment of Supervisory Staff
All Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), District Education Authorities (DEAs), Punjab are directed to deploy supervisory staff at examination centers strictly according to the prescribed criteria.
Designations for Examination Duty:

Resident Inspector
Head/Deputy Head of the proposed examination center. -
Superintendent
Government School Teacher (SST/Headmaster/SSS or equivalent, Grade 16 or above) – Out of School. -
Test Administrator
Government School Teacher (PST/EST) – Out of School within Cluster. -
Support Staff
One Class IV employee per examination center (up to 300 students).
✅ Important Instructions

Deployment must be completed in the Online System by the concerned CEO-DEA.

100% provision of supervisory staff data is mandatory.

100% deployment and attendance of supervisory staff must be ensured.

Superintendent and Test Administrator must not be deputed in their own school/exam center.

No staff member shall be appointed where their own students or relatives are appearing.

Conflict of interest must strictly be avoided.
-
One Test Administrator will be appointed for every 40 candidates (in case of hall) and one for each separate room.

Female staff should preferably supervise female candidates.

Tehsil Focal Person, Center Superintendent & Resident Inspector must have a functional Android phone for barcode scanning.

A reserve pool of trained supervisory staff must be maintained for replacements.

In case of shortage or absence, immediate replacement shall be arranged from the reserve pool.

The replacement official must have received mandatory training.
⏳ Deadline
The deployment of staff must be completed on or before 14 February 2026.
